I am making a carousel cake similar to the one I am attaching (I found this one on CakeCentral.com) My question is this:
How can I stick the "red panels" to the side of hte cake without covering the cake with fondant 1st? I do not want to cover that part of the cake with fondant because I feel that it will be a waste of fondant. However, I am afraid that the "red panels" will slide off of buttercream.

Thanks For The Help.

It will make your life a ton easier if you just put a very thin layer of plain fondant on first and then attach the panels. It will not waste that much fondant if you roll it thin.

Good luck!
