I first saw this a couple of years ago when it was an "awful link of the day" on a site I visit. The story, as I understand it, is that they got a web designer to make them a nice, classy site, but they didn't want to pay so he changed it to this monstrosity. If you use archive.org, you can see that the layout used to be normal. Either way, it's a hell of a trip. Remember, don't rip off web designers!
My youngest daughter is always saying, "Never pi$$ off the people who handle your food!" I'll have to tell her to add in web designers, too!

I have to say that this is my new favorite website. Has anyone followed some of the links? The one that paints your portrait has a link to pictures of the painter's apartment, including his microwave and his fridge. And his Neat Lamp (his words).
I just had an epiphany...This totally reminds me of these people I know who are all slacker/hippie wannabees in southern Alabama. They live in an "artsy" town and I've seen plenty of "art" that looks like the website art when I'm there. It's a combination of aging hippies/lazyasses. I didn't make the connection until now, but it totally fits.

I really find this website fascinating! My son is loving it, too. He wants to go into an information technology program in high school, and I told him this could be a case study.
