Can you get blow outs with IMBC? I get air pockets, blow outs, ALL the time with my powdered sugar/butter/shortening BC and it is sooooo frustrating!

I am thinking about switching to IMBC for several reasons, but I was really hoping it would help prevent this problem.

Blow outs happen for a) lots of reasons and b) no reason at all!

The main lessons from this site are to take your time with each stage, and the let the cake settle before putting on the final layer of fondant/bc/whatever.
