ok, first time, just made sugarshack's buttercream and realized i bought creme bouquet, not wedding bouquet. i thought it smelled a little lemon-y but figured with all the sugar, creamer, it would't be so bad. BUT I HATE IT!! well not "hate" but i think it's too lemon-y! i added some vanilla but i am afraid to add more. any suggestions on what would take the lemon flavor out a little more? maybe almond? sigh...

i added an extra tbs of vanilla to the exact (5 cup shortening) recipe. how much more would you add? 2 tsp of vanilla, 2 tsp butter?

i normally add to the 5qt batch of sugarshack's bc 2 T of the creme bouquet and 1T each of the vanilla (or princess emulsion) and butter extracts. i would try adding a tsp at a time of the vanilla until it tastes right to you but the butter extract you could go ahead and add the 2 tsp. hth!
