Kind Of A Weird Advertising Question

Has anyone ever done paid advertising on your website for another company? I got a request from someone representing a large printing company to put an advertisement on my website, and they'd pay me for the placement. I don't have any ads like that on my site now, so I'm reluctant to start, but I was wondering if this is something that anyone else has run across?
Yeah, I'm always getting those offers. I turn them down. But that's just me. I want my website to be, well, about me and my biz.
I second that! Nothing turns me off more then trying to look at a page that has either 150 pop-ups or is covered with ad's for different companies that have nothing to do with what I'm looking at. Not worth the little extra $$ for me.
That's what I figured...The whole concept was a little strange to me. Maybe I'll offer them space on my blog instead!
