I have tried to get the magic consistency... Publix icing looks so much smoother than the Wilton buttercream medium consistency. Can you guys help me out with the best recipe for decorating? Thanks!

I use Edna's bc recipe. Here's the link: http://www.designmeacake.com/

I have to say I haven't been able to find the "magic" consistency either. This recipe and the fact that I have switched to hi ratio shortening has helped a lot.

I used IMBC for everything. One thing I love about it is that it's the perfect consistency for everything without having to be altered.

Ditto, our version is a little different, but a good IMBC is tough to beat.
