I am getting ready to cover a carved train cake with fondant. Its coated in bc and has been chilling in the fridge overnight. Question is how do I make the fondant stick since the bc is well crusted? I guess I must usually cover my cakes immediately because this has never come up!

You can moisten the buttercream by applying some piping gel or water.
