I am doing a 3 tier anniversary cake. I was going to use fondant, but didn't like the way it was looking. Would it look okay to put fondant swag on buttercream icing?

And would it hold on it?

Any help appreciated.

Sure it can Vicki, I've done it many times. But, when I do it, I use my white chocolate fondant and that allows me to make them REALLY thin so they don't weigh much. I sometimes will put a toothpick in for support until the icing crusts that I'm using to glue it to the cake. So the answer is yes, but the weight of your drapes can come into play.
