I'm just curious as to what everyone is charging for a simple yellow cake with butter cream frosting. No fancy decorations, maybe a few roses and some writing. (1/4 sheet)

Pricing is vary dependent on the area you live in and the profit margin you hope to acheive. It also depends if you're talking single layer, double layer, torted and filled, buttercream vs. fondant, etc.

For me a basic single layer 1/4 sheet in buttercream is $50.

There are a lot of bakers in this business forum that do not do sheet cakes at all because they are not cost effective.
