Painting Or Pre-Colour Fondant?

Again another question from me, still looking for advice on a motorbike cake - debating wether to paint it when i've covered it with plain fondant or colour it first then ice.

Bike is black with red and silver details.

Personally, I don't really like the look of painted fondant (unless it's meant to look like a piece of art). So I would say pre-color your fondant.

For the silver, I would color the fondant gray and then mix some silver luster dust with everclear and then paint it on. It will be super shiny!
