my daughters 2nd birthday is coming up soon, and she just loves minnie mouse. I've tried to bid on one from e-bay but they always end up going for about $60 and thats way out of my budget... (mod edited for content)

in advance thanks for the help.

Are you talking about a full body Minnie? If not, why not just take an 8 or 10 inch round pan for the head and make a couple 6 inch rounds for the ears. Just cut out a bit of the 6ers so the ears look attached to the head. It would be very easy to ice it with buttercream to look like Minnie then add a fondant/gumpaste bow.

Good luck! Just remember your daughter will love it no matter how it ends up because it's her favorite cartoon and her mommy made it!

I'm not sure what kind of 'figure' of MM you're wanting, but when I did my Scooby, I printed off the pic from the internet, blew it up to the size I wanted, and laminated it. I then baked my sheet cakes & place my template on the top and carved around it to get the shape. Then the eyes etc were made from fondant/painted on. HTH

This one (head only) is buy it now @ $28 (or best offer) plus $8 shipping on E-Bay (not a bad deal).

There is also a bid item for the full body Minnie starting at $12.99 but it ends in 5 days so it will probably go up. If you want to watch it: http://cgi.ebay.com/WILTON-DISNEY-MINNIE-MOUSE-CAKE-PAN-W-INSERT-BIRTHDAY_W0QQitemZ370300815116QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item5637a6070c
Good Luck!

Try searching the galleries here on CC. There a lots of Minnie cakes that use simple shapes, and you wouldn't need to buy special pans.
