I am looking for a recipe that bakeries use for their cakes. Generally, the cakes are heavier in body so they can easily take the weight of fondant. I need a yellow and a chocolate recipe. Hope someone out there can help me. Thanks Nana icon_cry.gif

Sponge cakes are not typically covered in fondant. Are you looking for a butter cake?

You are right that is what I am looking for. I read a posting for Karen's Kitchens and went to that site last night. I made two of her recipes for butter cake and chocolate cake. They are delicious. My husband is my tester and these are the first that he has said "great". What a wonderful site. She has so many recipes. Thanks for looking at my post. Nana
