Ok so this Saturday, i've got my mums and sisters birthday and I've said yes to making a Halloween cake for someone. Collection is Saturday for all of them.

All are sponge with jam fillings. Can I start making my cakes now? I dont see how i'm going to have time to decorate all three for the same day.

I'm making a witches couldren with pumpkin cupcakes on the side. Easy enough. A Chanel handbag and a flowerpot cake with fondant roses.

All three are new to me to make. Luckily i'm off work for 4 weeks so I can spend time working on them. I'm just having a mini panic that i've got too much to do.

Are you covering them all with fondant? If so, then yes, you can start making and decorating them now. I have made fondant covered cakes 5-7 days ahead and they have still been perfect - fondant acts as an airtight seal.
