Lounge By Justbeck101 Updated 12 Oct 2009 , 11:52pm by Justbeck101
I just has the most wonderful dish. It is a German dish that my niece-in-law made for dinner. It is called spaetzle and had a sauce with it. She brought the sauce with her in a packet. It is made by Knorr and is called pfeffer rahm sosse. I am looking for the recipe for the sauce!! I think it is a pepper cream sauce.
Any help with a scratch version of the sauce would be great!!!!
Thanks
here's a link to an importer:

the product you want:
KNO0216 Knorr Pfeffer Rahmsoße 2er 4.99

and I'm betting if check around New Braunfels TX you might find stores that carry it. Who knows, maybe HEB has it too.

it's just a cream sauce -- the packet is preblended spices

I've only ever had spaetzli with hot butter and grated cheese over it- that's hw the Swiss eat it.
The only pepper ccream sauce recipe I have in my Swiss cookbook is a basic cream and cheese sauce
1/2 pint milk, 1/4 pint cream, salt and pepper, 1 oz cornstarch, 2 oz butter, 6 triangles of Gruyere cheese (chopped or grated- I think it's about 3-4 cups I just mix by feel and taste)
Kasesauce:
heat milk til boiling
stir in cornflour (mixed with a bit of milk)
stir until smooth and thickened
add butter, cheese, salt and pepper
stir for about 5 minutes over low heat until cheese is melted
remove from stove and add cream
HTH
Ahhh!! Thank you all so much! I am just happy someone knows what I am talking about!! I love this stuff!!!
There is a store in Dallas called Kuby's that sells German products (including the spaetzle noodles). If you can't find a recipe for you you maybe able to find the packet of stuff.
