Has anyone ever applied fondant to let say a dulce de leche cake, or any other kind of cake that is soaked in liquid? How does the fondant react, is it like any other cake? I'm making a rum soaked pound cake, and want to know if applying fondant is a good idea, Thanks for any input

I make a soaked pound cake and have covered it with fondant. I just use buttercream to seal it, them apply fondant. HTH

Thanks for the advice! I wasn't to sure if adding the bc under would make the whole thing too soggy icon_smile.gif

I think that it is important to make sure that the cake is not overly soaked, like leaking liquid (like what a typical tres leche). My cakes hold the liquor pretty well.
