Ok so im trying to branch out into wedding favours, etc and have seen a few threads about these but we dont get them in the uk so what exactly are they? are they scraps of cake made into balls and covered in chocolate? is there buttercream involved?

thanks in advance!

Well, yes it is a great way to make use of the scraps but I also bake cakes just for making cake balls.

Just combine a combination of cake and some type of binder (creamers, jams, custards, buttercream, fudge, etc).

You can get creative with it. You can add chopped chocolate candy bars, cookies and I sometimes even use cheesecake and such. There is no rule, as long as you can roll it into a ball and can be dipped in chocolate, it's fine.
