I am doing a cake for a 4 year old boy who LOVES High School Musical. I have lots of girl ideas but this cake can't be girly. I was thinking of concentrating on the basketball part of the movie and his Mom thought that was great but she would also like me to make sure it is definitely a High School Musical theme? Any ideas?

Well there are lots of HSM cakes on here but I am curious why a parent is even letting a 4 year old watch a show that is meant for preteen and teenagers even though there is no profanity etc....Hmmmmm interesting...Lots of pics in the Gallery!!

I have an HSM cake in my gallery that isn't too too too girly! I think if you maybe replaced some of the stars with basketballs, that may boy it up a bit.

By the way, my 4 year old loves those movies too...the music and dancing reels them in. I don't think he really pays attention to the parts that aren't basketball or singing! It has the same themes to it as any of the princess type cartoon movies and there aren't any parts that are profane, sexual, or anything. I will say that I watched it before I let my son watch it, just to make sure!

Thanks Krissiecakes! I'll have a look. I can definitely see how the singing and dancing could reel them in!

KrissieCakes, your cake is so cute! I love how you added the stars. I wish I could've seen the look on your niece's face!

Here's a photo of another one I really like that doesn't look too girly that might give you some ideas.

Sorry, you have to scroll down quite a bit to reach the photo. It's near the bottom.
