Maybe they stuck some almonds before dipping in chocolate?

They are most likely covered in chocolate.

My guess would be sticking almonds in before dipping them in chocolate too

They probably stuck the almonds and the stick in the brownies and then put them in the freezer for 30 min or so. Then they dipped them in chocolate.
