I had planned on making a football helmet cake. Not for anyone (luckily), but just for practice. Anyway... I made the facemask over a week ago out of fondant/gumpaste mix. It still has not completely hardened and it fell apart. What am I doing wrong? Please help !!

Is there a lot of humidity? How much gumpaste vs fondant did you use?

I live in Georgia so there is always a lot of humidity. I used 50/50 fondant and gumpaste.

Maybe adding a teaspoon of tylose will help! I believe there is a way to dry it in the oven at a very low temp, but I have never tried it Does anyone know more about this?
