Hi, i recently made a cake and when i went to put the fondant on it started tearing........i think it may have been a little to thick and heavy because it just pulled the fondant down on the sides......i was able to cover it with decorations but i wish it would go on a litttle more smoothly.

Also does it have anything to do with what i use under the fondant?

Did you make your own fondant? Because if you add too much powdered sugar it will tear very easily.

I actually find that fondant tears less when it's rolled out thick. But I usually work with Satin Ice.
