I an making a 3d purse cake. I had it covered in the fondant yesterday ad it looked nice. Now the icing has slipped down and the fondant sagged so much that I just stripped it off to redo it.

Now my cake under it is....for a lack of a better word.. slimy ... from the icing.
Should I have put this in the cooler over night? I've done fondant before. I'm not sure what I did wrong this time.

Any suggestions?

Please tell us more, what type of icing did you use under the fondant?

I used a regular butter cream. I think maybe it was too fluffy.
