How do I do this long spiral topper? My cousin wants it for her wedding cake.

Should I just use a fondant/gumpaste mixture and wrap it around a wooden dowel to dry? I'm wondering how far the wire needs to go up into it to hold it steady?

Thanks for any suggestions!

i would wire the whole thing, just wrap the fondant around the wire then shape into the spiral it may take a couple to get just the right look but thats how i would do it.

I have done these - just wrap it around a dowel and leave to dry.
