Bridal Shower Cruise Cake

A friend has asked me to do a bridal shower with a cruise theme and I need some suggestions on how to make it feminine. The bride and groom are getting married on a cruise to Mexico so she's requested a cruise ship, palm trees, and she wants it to say 'Bon Voyage'. The cake only needs to serve 15. I have ideas, they just seem too masculine for a bridal shower. Would love to hear some suggestions!

It's way too small of a cake to carve a ship, so I'd make a small ship (gum paste or fondant covered Rice Krispy Treat) to put on top of a round cake. You could decorate the top of the cake with blue tinted piping gel for the water, add a beach area with the trees.... Good luck!

I think it would be pretty to decorate the top of the cake with beautiful sunset colors. Then create a dark silhouette of a kissing couple on a cruise ship on top of that. You could decorate the sides of the cake with sand and coconut trees.
