Hello!! I am making a cake this weekend using the sports ball pan from Wilton. The cake is 2 10" rounds and then I am using only 1/2 of the sports ball pan to put on top of the cake, not the full 3D ball. Would I need to dowell the sports ball cake for support? I wasn't sure since it is only 1/2 of the sports ball. Any help and advice would be greatly appreciated!! Thank you!!

i made a soccer ball w/ both halves and just sat it on the square cake i used for the field. no dowels were needed.
