Suggestions On Doing A Soccer Ball??

Hi cake family! I need your help. I have baked off the ball pan cake and crumb iced it, but I am just not sure how to make it into a soccer ball with my rolled buttercream. I have to deliver tomorrow can anyone help??

If you have pentagon/hexagon cookie cutters I think that would look really neat butted next to each other. It would look like the seams of the soccer ball.

Or once you cover with the rolled buttercream (I have never worked with it myself but am assuming it works similar to fondant) then you could make a template of the shapes (hex/pentagon) and use a small ball tool or other tool that will help make impressions on the rolled bc.

Hopefully this will give you some ideas or at least a bump so that someone else can chime in.
