I made too much red icing on accident, and was wondering if there is anyway i can freeze this until i need it next. I really don't want to waste all of the gel i had to put into it.

I used indydebis crusting buttercream and was wondering how long it would last in the freezer, and how to make it reusable again. Do you thaw and rewhip?

Thanks,

I've frozen and reused Wilton's buttercream recipe several times with out problems. Especially red and black when I have left over. I just stick it in a bag and label it what flavors and what color of icing I used. I've kept it in the freezer for months with out issue. I thaw then just squish the baggie around before I use the icing again.
