I have a request from a client who wants so many differant things on her husbands cake I think it might end up looking tacky. Here are a few of the things on her list...
Mickey Mouse?
South Carolina Gamecocks (football team)
Dallas Cowboys
baseball
His favorite bible verse
their anniversary date
their business logo
Any advice is greatly appreciated!

how big is the cake suppose to be. It would be so hard to fit all of that on a sheet cake. Will she narrow it down for you, I can see why you are concerned, I'll have to think about it, but thats a tough one.

How cute would that church sign be? Doug you ROCK! The cake needs to feed about 100 people, so I'm gonna stack it for sure! She was thinking something classy, so I was thinking about photo frames around with each thing in it, maybe? She wants a football helmet on top! I don't think that would really go with a classy cake though. I've requested another meeting with her to discuss all this. Keep the advice comin'! I need it!!! Thanks!

if she want's classy, I'd talk her out of the helmet on top

framing the signs/logos/sayings could look very nice

You could make the cake look like the husband's desktop.

Some ideas:

-Framed photo of couple with inscription of wedding date sitting on corner of desktop
-miniature football helmets with team logos (or just one helmet with a different logo on each side in order to free up desk space)
-baseball figurine or ball
-Write birthday message on computer screen in computer-type font
-Mickey Mouse is on the mouse pad icon_surprised.gif)
-Post-it note with handwritten favorite scripture on computer screen

Thanks, Doug. I really like your ideas, too, especially the bumper stickers on the back of a car.

Another idea:

You could make the cake look like 2 pages of an open scrapbook, including:

-wedding photo
-photo of husband at a football game
-baseball card with favorite player
-ticket stub to a game
-photo of trip to Disneyland
-image of business logo

Include handwritten messages around the pages related to the photos. This might be a good way to incorporate the frames around each image.

Here's a picture of the finished cake. She ended up going with the desk top theme...she loved it! The helmet would not fit so we left it on the side. icon_redface.gif
I've never attached a photo so I hope this works.
Thanks to everyone. Sorry it took me so long to post!

...Ok, I tried uploading a photo of the finished cake here but it was too large so I'll put it on my photo page. Thanks guys!
Karen
