Hi all,
I am doing a cake in the morning and I cannot decide how much fondant I am going to need. Any thoughts would be a big help.

The cake is a Tiki god. There are 8 9" rounds of cake and they stand 12" high at the moment without icing or filling. I will be rolling the fondant a bit thicker than I normally would so I can make some of the details in the fondant. How many pounds would you make? Also, I had planned on a board every 2 layers and One large dowell through the center and through the board which is a very thick cake drum. Good plan or not? I dont do to many stacked cakes so I just want to be prepared.

Here's a link to a Wilton fondant chart. Just compare measurements and figure how much you will need. HTH.
