It is weeping! Strawberry cake, very moist, but def cooked thru. I left it in the pan to cool and settle. I torted it and filled, crumb coated last nite, today it is weeping pink tears in a couple of places.
I had planned to cover with fondant. Should I cook a replacement? It's the 6 inch layer, thank goodness!
TIA!

BTW It is a free cake for the college girls at church- bridal shower for one of the girls. I am just concerned that the weeping will cause a problem with MMF. They won't care, but I do!

Did you use fresh strawberries? That could be the problem. They tend to 'weep' once they've been cooked; all the juices get released. Not sure what the solution would be though.

No, Duncan Hines strawberry mix. It stopped weeping and the area of icing dried, so I went ahead with fondant. 7 hours later, no problems with the fondant.
Thanks!
