I need to make bubbles for an adult birthday cake. I've seen blown sugar bubbles which is the look I'm going for, except I have no idea how to do that or the supplies to do it.

Can I just roll fondant balls, roll them in lustre dust?

Any suggestions welcomed.

That would be my suggestion. Use fondant or gum paste, and add different colors of luster dust, pearl, sliver, white etc .. brushed on them.

Here's a link to the sugar forum though! In case you want to try to blow sugar bubbles! I'm sure someone in there can tell you what to do!
