I am trying to come up with ideas for an animal (from the muppets) themed cake for my brother-in-law's birthday next week. I had an idea to put different muppets characters around the cake but was wondering if I could use EIs instead of making a bunch of FBCTs. Can you cut out EI with scissors or an exacto-type knife? If I couldn't wrap strips of EI's around the cake, I could cut out each figure individually and put them in boxes around the cake somehow...off to think...

You can cut out the images and attach them to gum paste for a 2D effect. See this cake example I found here on CC
