Hi All!!

Please bear with me. I know this is probably a stupid question, but I have to ask it anyway. I made some Chocolate Butter cream icing. The recipe has butter in it. This is my first time doing this. It has been frozen for about 2 weeks. I didnt think to look at the butter box expiration date. When I thaw my icing out, will it automatically spoil if the date of the expiration as been passed?????? I think I am ok with the expiration date, I bought another box with it and the exp. date is in August. But I still would like to know.

Thank You
=)

I know that with *most* things, freezing extends the expiration date. So even if the butter's date passed while it was frozen, it would still have a couple days at least after it's thawed.

My mom taught me that. She buys milk on sale and freezes it for weeks at a time.

THERE ARE NO STUPID QUESTIONS!!! Image
I freeze everything. Something that has a month to go when you put it in, should have almost a month left after it comes out. Just make certain to remove as much air as possible when freezing.
