Since I like tiered cakes yet always have way too much cake left over I thought I would try one tier as a cake dummy. ( scaling back to the correct servings would take all the creativity and fun out of it!) so a couple random questions:
1. Should I cover before icing with BC - would seal and stick Saran wrap work or would icing slide off and not be smooth?
2. Does it matter why tier is the dummy? I want to a petal pan, topped with a circle then a baby belly cake on top- can I do the center round as the dummy?
Thank you soooo much - I really love this CC community. [/url]

It isn't necessary to cover it in plastic wrap. People do it so it cleans easily.

I don't see why not.
