I need help making deeper/darker colors. I made my little boys cake and the colors just didn't turn out as dark as I wanted. Do I need to add the whole container of gel coloring? I'm using the wilton colors. I'm trying to color about 2 cups.

Honestly, you just keep adding gel until you get the color that you want. It can be frustrating, especially if you are wanting really dark colors - like black and red. In the future, you should try Americolor gels. They come in little squeeze bottles with a lid that shuts...so it's just so much nicer than having to scoop it out with a toothpick. Plus, the color goes farther. You do not have to use anywhere near as much.

Good luck!
