I'm just wondering how to make 'sand" to go underneath Spongebob Squarepants (as I've seen on some cakes on here). And how do you get it to stick to the cake board???

Thanks icon_biggrin.gif

I use crushed graham crackers for my sand. I've heard other people use vanilla wafers or even brown sugar (too sweet for me). You can spread a thin coating of icing on and then sprinkle the crumbs on top and pat down.

You can use finely ground graham crackers, brown sugar or what I found was brown sugar that is like granulated sugar. I used it for a sand trap on a golf cake. As far as getting it to stick to your board I would use icing gel.

I just did a golf cake and uses finely ground up cinnamon graham crackers. I looked fantastic and tasted great.

graham crackers or digestive biscuits, crushed and mixed in with a little white cake sparkles.
