I have to do a 3 tiered wedding cake this weekend. The 2 bottom tiers are 'fake' and the top is 'real'. The wedding is 2 hours away. Should I put it together before delivery or after? and what support system should I use?

I think a center dowel going from the top tier through the dummies would do. I'd deliver it assemble.

I agree, one dowel down the center of all of the tiers should hold it. If you are concerned about traveling for 2 hours with a fully assembled cake, then assemble the two fake tiers together a dowel a little off-centered, then set the top tier on at the venue when you get there. You can then put a dowel down the center to make sure they all are secure.
