Anyone ever used Sugarshack's Buttercream (recipe on this site)? I wonder if it will crust? Or if you could add meringue powder?
I would appreciate any guidence.
Thanks, Patti

I use this recipe all the time, and it crusts perfectly fine without meringue powder.

I LOVE it - it doesn't get a "hard" crust - it is so nice to work with! It smooths out with viva perfectly.

I made it today and fell in love with the "lightness" of it. No heavy shortening feel in your mouth. Lovely and pipes well, too. I did use a store brand and feel it would have been smoother with the suggested sugar. But otherwise very pleased with it.
Thanks for the responses!

I made it this week with sweetex. It does crust very quickly. As soon as i finished icing the cake I used the viva method. I didnt even have to wait. It did smooth out very nice. I did find that it was better with a little more liquid. Could just be me, but I thought it was to thick with out the extra creamer/water mixture (I did 2 bags of sugar and one cup of creamer mix). I love it though.
