I need some expert opinions! I made a batch of buttercream (Wilton's recipe) and instead of using 3/4 c shortening and 1/4 c butter, I accidentally threw in 3/4c cup shortening and 1/2 cup of butter. Can this batch be saved? I started adding more sugar, but decided to get an opinion rather than waste more sugar if it wasn't salvageable.

cut out your water from the recipe and you should be fine.

Unfortunately, I already added 2 T of water! Do you think if I just add more sugar to thicken it will taste alright?

you should be fine, you may want to add a bit more flavoring, but that small amount of water shouldnt hurt.

The other option is to double the batch of icing. Just remember not to double your butter again.
