I mixed a double batch of Indydebi's buttercream this morning and it's really gritty. I've been working on it now for over an hour and I don't know what to do. I have cupcakes that I have to pipe by 1pm. Does anyone know of anything I can do to make it less gritty?

Thanks!
Amy

Can you put a little bit more cream in and mix it for a little while longer? Or will that make it too thin?

Honestly, it sounds like you are running out of time. Would it just be better to start over? Instead of try to fix it for another hour?

Try adding the creamer warm, that's what I do and it always comes out smooth.

I've had the same problem. Just adding more liquid will make it smoother.
