I need to feed 40-45 people.....

would a 10 inch and 6 inch (double layers) be enough? Or 12" and 6 inch? 2 tier cake?

Thanks!

Ok, I'm assuming that you are asking for the party size servings. And I'm not sure if you are going to be using round or square pans, or possibly another kind. But here's what I can tell you.

6"Round Party size = 12 + 10" Round Party size = 28 = 40
6" Square Party size = 12 + 10" Square Party size = 30 = 42

So you are going to be on the low side of 40 with both of them. Hope this helps. Now if you do wedding sizes, then you are going to have PLENTY. Round wedding 6 and 10 = 50 servings. Square wedding 6 and 10 = 68.
