I have a wedding cake to do and she has given me a photo of the cake and it has the baroque design on it. Wondering how you would pronounce it? I looked in the dictionary and it wasn't much help then I looked on the Internet. (be-rohk). Any answers. Thanks
Like you are saying "broke" but instead of just saying "broke" it's "baa-roke"
emphasis on the "baa" (like a sheep, lol!)
OK, I just realized some people might think a sheep sounds differently, lol!
So go here http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=baroque
and click the little speaker next to the word Baroque and someone says the word for you, just make sure your speaker is turned on! HTH
Actually, the accent is on the second syllable. buh-ROKE.
That's how I've always said/heard it (even on an episode of Dick Van Dyke, where little Ritchie said, "I didn't Bah-ROKE it!")
And the definition of Baroque . . . When you're out of Monet!
Sorry; the devil made me do it.
If it's not baroque... don't fix it. *lol*
If you watch the disney cartoon Beauty and the Beast, the candlestick says that... or something like that. *lol* It's been a loooong time since I watched it.
buh-roke is how I say it...
And the definition of Baroque . . . When you're out of Monet!
Sorry; the devil made me do it.
