Sorry if this posted somewhere else, I don't see it.

Does anyone know if you can run a cake business from home in Suffolk County New York? Was just wondering if there was anyone on here who may know. Thanks!

it varies depending on where you are, contact the department of Agriculture ask about becoming a home processor. They should be able to tell you whats what as they are the ones that take care of that.

Go to Forums...Pick Cake Decorating Business...I'm sorry I dont' remember who compiled the info...But there is a list of every state about who can and can't do home baking...As suggested too, contact the Dept Of Agr for your area.....HTH

I'm pretty sure the answer is no for Long Island. In some places upstate it's ok, and varies by county as Peg mentioned.
