Making my grandsons cake for this weekend. Using BC icing and want to put stripes made from fondant. Is there a special way to get the sripes to stick? I am also cutting out circles out of fondant to put on top layer.
Thanks

just wet the back of the fondant strips with water...lightly. You can also smooth some piping gel, but water works just as well...HTH

Crusting BC? A little water.

Non crusting BC? Pop that cake in the fridge and chill firm. Apply stripes with no water, gently smooth with fingers, and it will grab on without anything.

Sorry meant to ask this with my other question... Does fondant get hard? Is is possible to use a cookie cutter to cut out shapes to attach to cake?
I was going to make color flow shapes but dont have time now (I dont think)
Thanks

Yes...you can use cookie cutters on fondant. Roll it out, cut it....then let it rest a bit to firm up before you put it on the cake. This will help retain its shape.

If you need the shapes to stand up off the cake then it would be best to use gumpaste, or a gumpaste/fondant combo.
