Does anyone have any suggestions for how to attach a satin ribbon to a buttercream cake. I know how to make it stay on but it always absorbs grease from the icing and changes the ribbon color. Is there something I should be attaching to the back of the ribbon?

Thank you
Rebecca

I saw something about this recently and that person cut a strip of wax paper to go under the ribbon.

There was recently a thread on this topic. You may be able to search and find it. Wax paper was mentioned, also toneda (sp?) advised that if you give it a couple of hours the whole ribbon will change color entirely and be consistently that one color (typically a darker color).
