A close friend has asked me to make a birthday cake for all of her family's June birthdays (they have 8!!!) and I am struggling with ideas. It needs to serve 25-30 people. I was thinking of using the Wilton "Happy Birthday" pan, but am not sure a 2 layer round will be large enough!

I was considering putting a 1 or 2 layer round on top of a rectangle (9x13 or larger) cake, but do not want to have way too much cake and am not sure how that will look!!!

Any fun ideas? Thanks a lot!!!

Maybe 2 tiers? a 10 inch and 8 inch or 8 inch and 6 inch (whichever one has the right amount of servings in it). This makes me think of a cake I saw on one of those Challenge shows on Food Network. Maybe the bottom tier can have 8 sections on it and each one have something on it relating to each person. Then the top tier can also have the 8 sections but with each person's name in it. I dont know if you think that would be too cluttered...but they did ask for a cake for 8 people LOL.
