I am making my first stacked wedding cake. It will be 14-10-6, I will be putting it on foam core covered with fancy foil. What size should the 14 in. be sitting on? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Does 16 in. sq. sound right?

16" is the smallest size I would use. I usually like the board to be at least 3" larger then the bottom cake. HTH thumbs_up.gif

I also would go for a board which is 3" or more bigger than the bottom cake. icon_smile.gif

I would use a 20" board, it needs more stability than it will get with a 16"!

I've never used foam core. If I was doing this cake, I would get my local lumberyard to cut me an 18X18 square of 1/2 inch plywood. I had a 16X16 cut last week and it cost me $1.25.
