How many months will it last after it has been opened? Do you refrigerate after you open it? Thanks.

Under optmimum handling and storage conditions, the Sweetex should be good for 12 months. (That's from the manufacturer and all the intermediate stops to you....)

However, refrigerating or freezing any product you won't use in a few months will guarantee that the shortening is kept at the same freshness as purchased for that long.

I keep my Sweetex in the same freezer as my sale butter and tub margarine.
