Hi. This is actually a two-part question. Does anyone have a good strawberry shortcake receipe, and can you make a strawberry shortcake and cover the cake in fondant? Sitting out all night, will the fruit go bad? I was always told to never put a fondant cake in the refrig, so I am concerned about the fruit, although, sitting overnight should be okay...Thanks.

I just use boxed pound cake or yellow cake mix. I put fondant in the refrigerator all the time and it's fine. I use Wilton's brand. I would not suggest letting fresh fruit filling sit out overnight, even if it's sealed with fondant.

I usually use Satin Ice, but you do not get any condensation on the fondant if you put the cake in the fridge?
