I highly reccommend Duncan Hines yellow cake mis with the cake mix extender using sour cream instead of yogurt. I sculpt all the time and this is a great, sturdy and tasty cake.

look in the recipes for "cake mix extender". I use it all the time. Soooo good!!

It works great with white cake. Very yummy and sturdy!

Well I just tried it with the yellow and I gotta say, it certainly made it more dense...I have it in freezer to prepare for my sculpting it....OMG I hope I can do this........ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

well its in the trash can now...........I don't think I will try that again anytime soon......I am not a sculptor .........this is know for certain LOL.....my grandson needs to rethink what he wants me to make for birthday....I am not as good as he thinks....sorry...there are lots of talented people in here that will help you.
