I just got asked to make a Banquet cake for a school band for 350 ppl The theme is western & I am blank on ideas for decorating!

Since I've never made a cake for this many, I would really appreciate your suggestions & ideas

Wow that is an interesting challenge. To feed that number of people, you can do a VERY large tiered cake or (like many caterers do) you can make a beautiful tiered cake, but also sheet cakes that are cut for serving large numbers of people.

A school band cake that is western themed. Hmm. What is the schools mascot? Perhaps that can be worked into the theme. Or if the mascot is a cowboy or something - then how about a molded cowboy playing an instrument on top. Or the tiers could depict a ranch or 'old west' setting. Fences, cows, old style wooden bldgs, bandana pattern, etc.
